April 11 is International Day for the Liberation of Concentration Camp Prisoners. For the Gymnasium named after Alexander Pechersky, this day is special. On this day, the high school students, by tradition, took part in a commemorative event, which is held annually near the memorial sign "To Political Prisoners of Concentration Camps". It was to this category that Soviet citizens who fell into fascist dungeons belonged. The ceremony was also attended by Marchenko V. V. (daughter of Muratova L. S., a prisoner of Ravensbrück, the founder of the gymnasium museum), Rebro M. G., chief specialist of the department of external relations and intermunicipal cooperation of the City Administration, Kozhin A. O., chairman Rostov branch of the All-Russian Society for the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments. The film crew of the TV and radio company Don-TR was reporting from the event. On behalf of the entire staff of the Gymnasium, flowers were laid at the monument.
