This year’s Honorary Amanda goes to Bente Børsum

Actress Bente Børsum (89) received this year’s Honorary Amanda during the film festival in Haugesund on Saturday night. Bente Børsum is known from a number of films from 1959 until today and is currently featured in a horror drama that premieres in December this year. “I’m an old lady, but I haven’t given up! It’s great that I’ve been allowed to do this,” said Børsum in her acceptance speech. It was Minister of Culture and Gender Equality Lubna Jaffery (Labour Party) who presented the award to Børsum.

We are extremely proud that Bente has used her art in the scenic presentation of her mother’s story as a prisoner in Ravensbrück and thus helped make the story of the women in Ravensbrück known in Norway."
