IRK conference from 16 to 20 October 2025 in Kladno, Czech Republic

17.10.2024

This year's IRK meeting took place in Kladno. We visited the Lidice memorial and were received at the Ministry of Human Rights in Prague.

Final Resolution

The members of the International Ravensbrück Committee, representing 17 European nationalities, met in Kladno from 16 to 20 October 2025. They reaffirmed the commitment of the former deportees – our mothers, grandmothers, sisters and aunts – who fought against the oblivion that all too often threatens the memory of the horrors of fascism and Nazism.

Today, in a more than turbulent political context, we believe it is essential to tirelessly emphasise the urgency of working to uphold human rights and peace. We are determined to participate in this never-ending struggle through our commitment in our respective countries.

The Committee is deeply concerned about the rise of the far right in Europe, the weakening of democracies and the increase in anti-Semitism and anti-Gypsyism, racism and discrimination against minorities.

In order to fight this battle more effectively, the President, together with the presidents of the other international committees, is organising initiatives to submit proposals to the European Parliament, about which the Committee will be informed immediately.
