She is a historian and worked many years as a librarian at the University of Amsterdam. She now is retired.

She joined CVR in 2019 through a dear friend, who was a resistance fighter during the Second World War and was imprisoned in Ravensbrück.

Agnes Dessing is president of the Dutch Comité Vrouwenconcentratiekamp Ravensbrück.
