My positions in the family are wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. Professionally, I am a trained retail saleswoman for musical instruments, then moved into healthcare and worked for 24 years as a medical practice assistant in a rural doctor’s office. My second workplace was in a car workshop, in the office of my son Andreas. Due to a serious illness, I have not been professionally active since the end of 2016.

My connection to Ravensbrück is deeply tied to my family history. My grandmother Anna Burger (prisoner number 6193) was imprisoned there under the designation “asocial” (black triangle). From childhood, we were taught how to lead a fulfilled life even under difficult circumstances. I first had contact with the Ravensbrück camp community & friends at the end of 1997. At that time, the travelling exhibition “Paths to Ravensbrück” was created, which also told my grandmother’s story.

Since 2012, I have been active in the IRK. However, my heart and all my love belong primarily to my family and animals.
